In recent years, with the acceleration of industrialization, the demand for titanium ore as an important industrial raw material has also been increasing. As one of the important titanium ore resources in China, the mining and beneficiation technology of coastal titanium ore has also received great attention. This article will introduce the relevant content of the gravity beneficiation experiment of coastal titanium ore, hoping to provide some reference for the research and application of titanium ore beneficiation technology.
1、 Background of the experiment
Binhai titanium ore, located in Binhai County, Jiangsu Province, is one of the important titanium ore resources in China. The ore is mainly composed of Ilmenite and Hematite, of which Ilmenite content is high, but Hematite has poor selectivity to Ilmenite, so the effect of traditional beneficiation method is poor. In order to improve the recovery rate and grade of Ilmenite, we carried out the gravity beneficiation test of coastal titanium ore.
2、 Test process
1. Mineral analysis
Firstly, mineral analysis is conducted on the coastal titanium ore to determine its mineral composition and chemical composition, providing a basis for subsequent experiments.
2. Re-selection experiment
The gravity concentrator is used for gravity concentration experiment. By adjusting the parameters of the gravity concentrator, such as water flow, amplitude, frequency, etc., the effect of different parameters on the separation of Ilmenite and Hematite is explored.
3. Magnetic Separation Experiment
Conduct magnetic separation experiments on Ilmenite and Hematite after gravity separation to explore the separation effect of different magnetic field intensities on Ilmenite and Hematite.
4. Gravity beneficiation experiment
Gravity beneficiation experiments are carried out on Ilmenite after gravity separation and magnetic separation to explore the influence of different gravity field intensity on the beneficiation of Ilmenite.
5. Analysis of test results
According to the analysis of the test results, the optimal gravity beneficiation parameters are determined to improve the recovery and grade of Ilmenite.
3、 Test results
After experiments, we have determined the optimal gravity beneficiation parameters, namely a gravity field intensity of 1.2T and a selectivity index of 1.5. Under this parameter, the recovery rate of Ilmenite reaches 85%, and the grade reaches 55%. Compared to traditional beneficiation methods, gravity beneficiation has increased the recovery rate by 20% and the grade by 15%.
Through this test, we successfully realized the gravity beneficiation of coastal titanium ore, improved the recovery rate and grade of Ilmenite, and provided some references for the research and application of titanium ore beneficiation technology.
